THE 2012 TOURNAMENT, now in its ninth year of a two-division format, will follow a similar schedule to last year’s event held at the Times Union Center. This year will mark the sixth year an additional 120 wrestlers will fill the byes in the brackets bringing the total number of participants to nearly 500. Qualifiers will hail from the 11 NYSPHSAA sections, as well as from the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) of New York City and the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA). 

THREE TICKET PACKAGES are being offered for the tournament including a “Premium package” for $38 in which an attendee would receive a ticket for each of the first two sessions and a third ticket for the last session in a premium seating area closer to the floor (finals only). Also available will be a one-session ticket for $12 as well as a three-session package without premium seating for $33. All seating is general admission except for premium seating for the finals. Premium seating will not be sold separately during the finals.

THE EVENT WILL STAY IN ALBANY at the Times Union Center through 2016. In October, the state wrestling committee voted to accept a new four-year term at the Times Union Center starting in 2013. The 2012 event will be the final year of the current three-year agreement and will mark the sixth time the TU Center has hosted the event.

TO REQUEST A MEDIA CREDENTIAL for this event, please contact Chadd Ryan, Marketing Manager at the Times Union Center, via e-mail at: chadd.ryan@timesunioncenter-albany.com. Media members will be asked to provide a photo ID prior to receiving their credential at the media table during the tournament. Regardless of having secured an official NYSPHSAA tournament credential, this venue REQUIRES ALL MEDIA to contact the arena to request a credential and announce their attendance. On February 21^st, all credential requests will be reviewed and approved.

Park-N-Ride Information to the Times Union Center - On Friday, February 24th ONLY, this "express" bus service will originate at the Albany Port lot, 21 Broadway, Albany, NY 12202 based on number of riders from 9:00am until 6:00pm.  Travel time from the lot to the Times Union Center is approximately 7 minutes depending on traffic.  Everyone will be dropped off and picked up at the corner of Pearl and Market Streets (side of the Times Union Center).  There will be a $4 charge (per person)  to park and take the CDTA shuttle.  EVEN THOUGH MATCHES RUN UNTIL 8:30PM, THE LOT WILL CLOSE AT 6:00PM.
