The Times Union Center is Upstate New York's premier sports and entertainment facility. Home to the Siena College Men's Basketball team, the arena also hosts many of today's top concerts, family shows and high school/college athletic events.

Students participating in our internship program will receive hands-on learning experiences in the operations of a sports and entertainment facility.


Students Must:
    Be currently enrolled in a college or university
    Provide documentation of receiving academic credit
    Submit a cover letter and resume
    Specify semester for internship: Fall [year] or Spring [year]

    You must receive academic credit
    Internships are available full or part time
    We do not offer summer internships in any area



Assist the Security Manager in the following:

Licensing administrative duties
Lost and found program assistance
Security and emergency planning programs
Other duties as assigned

Availability: Monday 9am-1pm, Wednesday 11am-3pm, Friday 11am-3pm

The Times Union Center offers both full and part-time, non-paid internships for academic credit.  Interns assist the Director of Marketing, Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator, along with office staff on day-to-day activities in addition to event day operations. The following is a list of duties that the intern will be expected to perform, however the job is not limited to the duties on the list. Responsibilities are subject to change based on the season's event schedule.

Create social media content
Assist in maintenance of social media pages
Design print ads, posters, postcards, flyers, brochures, marquees, social media graphics, etc.
Distribute marketing materials
Assist with the coordination of press conferences and other media events
Assist in the distribution of media credentials and escorting media at various events
Update local area online calendars
Target potential clients through internet research for both the Marketing and Group Sales departments
Collaborate with Marketing staff to develop strategic sales campaigns
General office work - including but not limited to maintaining databases


Marketing is not accepting resumes at this time for internships.  Resumes and cover letters will be accepted again in April for the Fall 2018 semester.



The following is a list of duties that the intern will be expected to perform, however the job is not limited to the duties on the list.

Handle Accounts Payable.
Process Box Office work.
Assist accounting department as needed.
Process all invoices.
Maintain an open payable listing, prepare payment, review report and produce checks for payment. 
Move invoices to appropriate files. 
Reconcile daily box office work and various monthly accounts. 
Handle all payables for the Times Union Center Garage. 
Reconcile bank accounts.
Assist with financial statements and special projects. 
All other duties as assigned.
